This and That

I know I am behind...but we're going back to the week of the 4th.

First, Jack and Halle had their 3 and 1 year check ups. Halle did fine, but Jack had a rough one. First, I had promised him no shots. I could have sworn they didn't get any at 3. Whoops. He screamed through it, which always breaks my heart. Then there was blood in his urine sample, which meant a trip to the hospital to have lab work done to make sure his kidneys were functioning ok. More needles, after I had promised no needles. On the way to the hospital we had a big pep talk on being brave. He was totally freaked out and cried all the way walking into the hospital. We got in and I held him in my lap while they prepped his arm to draw blood, and when they started he just turned his head into my shoulder and tried his hardest not to cry. Brave little guy. After he was done he turned to me and said "I'm sorry I cried mom"...made me want to cry. (sidenote: we got the results back and they were fine, but they still want him to see a kidney specialist at Primary's just to double check)
For 4th of July weekend, we went camping at Starvation with a bunch of neighbors. We totally roughed it in a tent, which was fun but hard with little kids who don't understand the words "quit dragging dirt into the tent" or "keep the door flap shut so the bugs don't get in". We took the boat and got out for a couple good runs. Jack had the time of his life, fishing, swimming, gettin dirty and not having to take baths. Here are a few pics from the weekend:

K.C. and Sally also blessed their little Maycee that weekend. It was a beautiful blessing, and was really fun to be with everyone. I got to see some friends that I hadn't seen in a while (love ya Amy and Casey, Erika & Will and that cutest Milo)...Sally's family is always a lot of fun to be around too. Here are some pics from that day (the one of Jack and Hal is the only one I could get of them in their 4th of July outfits...they are starting to turn into monsters any time I get the camera out).

Love the update. At least you can get your fourth of July done. Still haven't done that. I can't believe KC is a little Dad his little girl is so cute. Don't worry Jack isn't the only one who hates shots. You should see my kids I think my blood pressure rises every time we have to do those dang WCC.
