My Grandma was just diagnosed with breast cancer. With October being breast cancer awareness month, I wanted to post these early signs of breast cancer for all you women that I love:
*Any new, hard lump or thickening in any part of the breast
*Change in breast size or shape
*Dimpling or puckering of the skin
*Swelling, redness or warmth that does not go away
*Pain in one spot that does not vary with your monthly cycle
*Pulling in of the nipple
*Nipple discharge that starts suddenly and appears only in one breast
*An itchy, sore or scaling area on one nipple
For so long I have thought "Wow we have sure dodged the cancer bullet"...this is the first time it has shown up anywhere in my family. My Grandma is tough, with a fiesty spirit, so I know she will get through this. It just has hit me hard, knowing that the answer to the question "Do you have a history of cancer in your family?" is now forever changed.

I thought you were making some kind of announcement when I read the title of your blog...not good news, I'm sorry. Thanks for making me aware of what to look for. I am laughing at your last post. TOOO funny.
It's hard not to think about. My paternal Grandmother died of breast cancer, and my mom thus far has survived breast cancer. Anything is possible, but the earlier diagnosed the better. Thanks for sharing Kristin.
I am so sorry to hear about your grandma...that c word just scares the crap out of me.
Sorry to hear about your grandma.
Kristin, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandma. My prayers are with you . . . and her.
I'm so sorry about your grandma. Is it your mom's or your dad's mom? Cancer sucks and is scary. Almost every single one of my dad's siblings have gotten it in some form (and my dad too). The good news is - they have all survived! I hope your grandma squashes it in the butt.
Crap. I am so sorry to hear about this. Your grandma is a tough cookie. Hand in there.
