Last week my Uncle came home from serving in Iraq for a year. I always get a little choked up when they show the soldiers on the news coming home...let me tell ya, it's even better in person! It was the best feeling...all these people gathered together to celebrate these men and women who have given up so much so that we can continue to enjoy the lives we have. I am so proud of my Uncle, and so grateful for the sacrifice that he was willing to make. I know I would be too selfish to do something like this...to not see my kids or husband for a year. Having kids of my own has made me realize just how much of a sacrifice this really is. Their love of our country is amazing, and there are no words to thank them enough.
The happy reunion
Weston and Dad
My Uncle is a police officer in A.F., so a lot of his buddies were there. They gave him a police escort home from the airport...so cool...
Together again
Skip lovin' on his Daddy
Gregg and his favorite niece
And this is why we love and missed you...
Proud on this day and every day to be an American!
